How the cabinet door & drawer count calculator works
Doors are the base units times their doors-per-unit plus the wall units times theirs. Drawers are the drawer-stack count times the drawers each stack holds. Handles are one per door and drawer front, and hinges are two per door — the standard fit for domestic cabinetry. The result is a quick ironmongery shopping list.

Reading the result
Use the counts to order handles and hinges in one go rather than running short mid-fit. Heavy or tall doors sometimes take three hinges, so treat the hinge figure as a minimum.
Safe by design
This tool plans layout and quantities. It never sizes a gas connection or an electrical circuit — both are regulated trades that a qualified, registered installer must carry out.
Assumptions and limits
This assumes two hinges per door and one handle per front — the common case. Soft-close runners, three-hinge tall doors and handleless (push-to-open or J-pull) designs change the count. Adjust for your chosen hardware.

Frequently asked questions
How many hinges per door?
Two is standard for most doors; tall or heavy doors often need three. The tool uses two, so add for large doors.
Do drawers need handles?
Each drawer front takes one handle or knob unless you choose a handleless design. The tool counts one per front.
What about internal drawers?
Internal drawers behind a door do not add external handles. Count only the fronts you see.
Does this include soft-close?
No — it counts hinges and handles. Soft-close runners and hinge dampers are a per-unit upgrade you add separately.
