Terms of Use
Last updated: 23 September 2026
These terms govern your use of buildmetriclab.com (the "Site"), operated by Brightscale Labs Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales. By using the Site you agree to these terms.
1. Using the Site
- The Site and its calculators are offered free of charge for personal and professional use.
- You may not attempt to scrape the Site at scale, reverse-engineer the calculators, or republish them as your own.
- Embeds are permitted via the official embed links only; iframe attribution must remain intact.
2. Not professional advice
Calculator output is informational and educational only. It does not constitute professional engineering, architectural, surveying, construction, plumbing, gas, electrical or mechanical advice, and it is not a substitute for a permit or building approval, an inspection, stamped or approved plans, or a qualified contractor's quote. See our Disclaimer for the full statement.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brightscale Labs Limited, its directors, employees and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or use, arising from or related to your use of the Site — including losses from over- or under-ordering materials, project delays, rework, regulatory penalties or failed inspections. Where liability can lawfully be capped, our total liability arising out of your use of the Site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100) or its equivalent in your currency.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. In particular, nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK), the Australian Consumer Law, the consumer-protection legislation of your Canadian province or territory, or the consumer-protection law of your US state, where those cannot lawfully be excluded. Some US states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
4. Content accuracy
We work to keep formulas and assumptions accurate and up to date. Codes, standards and regulatory references can change. If you spot an error, email contact@brightscalelabs.com.
5. Third-party links and affiliate disclosure
Some outgoing links to suppliers or merchants may be affiliate links — we may earn a small commission if you purchase, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence calculator output. This disclosure is made in line with the UK Advertising Standards Authority's guidance and the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255).
6. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email contact@brightscalelabs.com identifying the work, the material you say infringes it, your contact details, and a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised. For notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), please also include a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, the place of incorporation of the operator, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country, state, province or territory where you live, or of any right you have to bring proceedings there.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL, and the "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
