How the screen & tv mount height calculator works
The comfortable default is the screen centre at seated eye level, so the mount centre equals your eye height. The top and bottom edges are half the screen height above and below that centre. Where a screen has to sit higher — above a fireplace, say — a small down-tilt brings the picture back towards a square-on view.
