Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
BuildMetricLab is operated by Brightscale Labs Limited (registered in England & Wales). For visitors in Canada we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws (such as PIPA in Alberta and British Columbia, and Quebec's Law 25).
What we collect
- Calculator inputs: the numbers you type into calculators are processed locally in your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers or stored on our end.
- Anonymous usage analytics (no cookies): when a calculator is used we record an anonymous event containing the tool, the inputs and result, approximate province/region and device type (from network headers). It contains no cookies, no IP addresses, and no information that can identify you personally.
- Optional analytics — Microsoft Clarity: if you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we load Microsoft Clarity, which records aggregated heatmaps and anonymised session replays to help us improve the tools. Input fields are masked, so the values you type are not captured. Clarity runs only with your consent and you can withdraw it by clearing site data. See our Cookie Policy for the cookies it sets.
- Voluntary feedback: if you submit feedback through the site, we store the message plus any contact email you choose to provide, to reply to you. You can request deletion at any time.
What we do not do
- We do not set advertising cookies; we set analytics cookies only if you accept them.
- We do not sell personal information to third parties.
- We do not share your calculator inputs with anyone.
- We do not use your data to train AI models.
Who processes your data
- Microsoft (Clarity) — heatmaps and session replay, only after you consent. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and the worker that records the anonymous, cookieless usage events described above.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada. We only use reputable providers with their own privacy commitments.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you, and withdraw consent. Contact: [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal information you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca, or to your provincial privacy regulator.
